Mind | We Are Mind Animation
Mind is a leading mental health charity in England and Wales dedicated to providing advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem.
The charity campaigns to improve services, raise awareness, and promote understanding of mental health issues. Mind’s core mission is to ensure that no one has to face a mental health problem alone.
Their key goals include providing easily accessible, reliable information and support, campaigning for better mental health services and policy change, challenging stigma and discrimination associated with mental illness and working with local partners to deliver services tailored to specific community needs.
The brief and insights
We were commissioned by Mind to create a new animation that brings to life the services offered by local Minds and the advantage of being part of a the Mind umbrella which operates across England, Wales, and the Channel Islands. This was to refresh an older version we had created over a decade ago, aligning the story with their refreshed brand identity and updated guidelines.
The approach was to modernise the content and future-proof it by focusing on a clear narrative rather than statistics that quickly date. Working with scripts and brand assets provided by the client, we redesigned the animation to match the new visual style, recorded a neutral voiceover to reflect inclusivity, and sourced a soundtrack to keep the pace engaging.
A versatile approach to suit all local Minds
A key creative challenge was striking the balance between independence and unity, showcasing the individuality of each local Mind while emphasising the strength of the wider Mind umbrella.Our animation style was developed to reflect both, making the film adaptable for use nationally and locally.
The animation is a versatile tool for sharing across YouTube and local channels. It provides a modern, engaging way for Mind to tell its story and will remain relevant for years to come.
