Our customers demand it. We offer a full turnkey solution,
from design and artwork to print and distribution
of the final product. We are expert in all these processes
and can provide a true end to end solution where the
design and artwork we create is optimised for the
print suppliers we intend to use.
For the inexperienced, sourcing print estimates and creating a specification for the print enquiry can be time consuming and prone to error.
You may be asked questions you don't understand or be engaging with a supplier not familiar with this type of work. Print is not simply ink on paper, there are an array of processes that make up a final job such as paper type, press settings and finishing requirements. Records must be kept of all these processes in order to maintain good quality and consistent results.
The print and publishing industry is one of the top
five industries in the UK. There are tens of thousands
of suppliers out there, some of them dedicated to
trade work only. We have buying power with a range
of suppliers and we target only the most professional
of those for your particular project .
Due of the large financial investment required in
printing presses, print manufacturers will generally
focus on one area of print which may not be economically
viable for your project. In these instances most manufacturers
that deal directly with customers will still quote
the job but contract the work out to other manufacturers
or brokers and simply add a handling fee, your job
may end up going through a chain of resellers.
If you commission a print project through Carbon Creative
we offer a full guarantee on quality of print. If
you are unhappy with the final printed product we
will offer to collect the item and reprint it free
of charge. We are experts in these fields, things
rarely go wrong, but if they do we will put them right
quickly and efficiently
If, however, you decide to source your own print then Carbon Creative are not liable for any problems and we offer no guarantee.
We should be able to match any like for like quote,
however, there are certain circumstances that we cannot.
Some suppliers will cut corners such as printing on
substandard equipment, material and finishing or contract
a project out to a far eastern country which often
results in reduced quality and increased delivery
times. Great design work is often compromised by budget
printing, if you have spent considerable time and
money on designing stationery, brochures or catalogues,
the designers work can be quickly undone by cutting
corners in print.
Under specified cheap or thin materials, lack of application of a sealing varnish, printing full colour on single colour presses and visa versa are all typical ways a printer can reduce the costs on a job, in most cases you get what you pay for and if its cheap the chances are it will look that way.
Print management is a service we offer that allows
print bulk items and deliver them in on demand. This
has three key benefits, firstly there is a cost saving
by printing in bulk, a large proportion of print costs
are in setup, plate making and make ready time. Second
is storage, you don't have to worry about storing
items or stock control of the items, we monitor this
and ensure you never run out. Thirdly is consistency,
by printing in bulk and using the same logged settings
we can virtually guarantee consistency in print quality.
All of our services are modular whether its design, artwork, print or websites. Our print and print management service can be treated independently and we welcome print enquiries from customers and clients who have already sourced their own design and artwork requirements.
Digital print is a term coined from the printing process
conducted on a digital press, in its infancy this
referred generally to the pioneering Indigo presses
but now covers a much wider array of different manufactures
from glorified colour photo copiers to traditional
full colour lithographic presses with a digital imaging
unit attached. Generally digital print is cheaper
on short run material due lack of plate making (not
required) and zero make ready time. Digital presses
are not as refined as traditional litho presses and
as such the print quality is inferior, however cost
savings on small jobs can be substantial.
Security print is a specialised subsection of the
publishing industry focused on printing sensitive
material such as company cheques. All printed material
is accounted for and delivered by secure transport.
Carbon Creative takes all the necessary steps to ensure
your artwork is secured with special indelible insignias
(also known as fugitives) that are difficult to reproduce
and therefore counterfeit.
We accept all industry standard artwork files on both
Apple Macintosh and Microsoft Windows PC platforms,
including Adobe PDF (HIRES), Adobe Indesign, Adobe
Illustrator, QuarkXpress, Microsoft Publisher etc.
For jobs that have been commissioned for print only
(not design and/or produced by Carbon Creative) we
also require hard copy proofs in order to provide
a guarantee on the printed items. Files can be supplied
via FTP, Email, CD or DVD.
